ADHD care, Fresno
Adult ADHD treatment in Fresno
ADHD treatment in Fresno starts with a full psychiatric evaluation by video, then medication management with the same prescriber at every visit. Orange Pacific Mental Health sees adults 18 and up anywhere in California, and the typical wait for a first appointment is under a week.
Self-pay is $280 first visit, $130 follow-ups, charged per visit with no membership. Insurance accepted in California: Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Carelon, Cigna. Medi-Cal is not.
When to get evaluated
Why adults in Fresno come in for an ADHD evaluation
Most first appointments start with one of these.
Your online ADHD provider shut down
Your prescription came through a telehealth service that closed or stopped seeing patients, and now nobody is writing it. A new prescriber cannot simply pick up where the last one stopped, so you start with a full evaluation. Bring any records you can get.
It was treated, and it never really worked
A diagnosis was made years ago, the medication never quite helped, and nobody went back to check. Tim does second-opinion re-evaluations for exactly this, because a long run of failed treatment sometimes points to the wrong diagnosis.
Your child was diagnosed, and you recognized yourself
The questions about your kid’s school day sounded a lot like your own at that age. Plenty of adults first take ADHD seriously this way.
The adult options are thin
Search for ADHD help in Fresno and much of what comes back is directories, therapists and pediatric practices. A therapist cannot prescribe and a pediatrician is not for adults, which leaves a short list.
ADHD in Fresno
Why an adult ADHD appointment is hard to get in Fresno
The San Joaquin Valley has about 100 practicing specialist physicians for every 100,000 residents, against 176 across California. The California Health Care Foundation’s January 2026 report on the region lists psychiatry among its chronic shortages, and notes that specialist shortages sometimes send patients as far as Los Angeles or Sacramento for care.
About half of Fresno County is on Medi-Cal, according to a 2025 Fresnoland review of state data, and regional experts in the same CHCF report say Medi-Cal patients reach fewer specialists and behavioral health providers than people with commercial coverage. This practice is not in the Medi-Cal network, so the self-pay rate and the four commercial plans above are the two ways in.
By video, the drive drops out of the decision. Clovis, Madera, Visalia or downtown Fresno, it is the same appointment.
Treatment options
Stimulant, non-stimulant, or neither
ADHD medication falls into two groups. Stimulants act quickly, often within days, and are the most studied option. Non-stimulants take longer to show an effect, usually several weeks, and suit people for whom a stimulant is unsuitable or unwanted. Both get discussed once there is a diagnosis, including what each does, what it does not do, and what monitoring looks like.
The practice prescribes stimulants by telehealth in line with DEA regulations, and follows the post-COVID extension under the Ryan Haight Act. More on prescribing and controlled substances.
Medication is also not automatic. Where sleep, another untreated condition or a stimulant already being taken explains the picture better, that gets addressed first. The CDC reported in October 2024 that about a third of US adults with ADHD take stimulant medication, so it is common rather than universal.
One practical warning worth having in advance: of those adults taking a stimulant, 71.5% reported difficulty filling the prescription in the past year because it was unavailable. Shortages are a live problem and are worth planning around rather than discovering at the counter.
What to expect
From booking to a prescription, in four steps
Scheduling and appointments both run through Headway, which verifies your coverage and hosts the visit. Registering is free.
-
Check coverage and book
Open Headway, confirm what your plan covers, and self-schedule. No callback queue and no eligibility surprise afterwards.
-
The evaluation
A full psychiatric evaluation rather than a fifteen-minute intake. Developmental history, how attention and executive function affect you now, and the conditions that imitate ADHD.
-
The diagnosis and the plan
If ADHD is the right diagnosis, stimulant and non-stimulant options are discussed and one is chosen with you. If it is not, you are told what the picture looks like instead.
-
Follow-ups and adjustment
Dose adjustment is a conversation across several appointments, not one. You work with the same prescriber throughout rather than whoever is free.
Why patients choose this practice
What a one-clinician practice means for patients in Fresno
One prescriber, by name
Tim Korm, PMHNP-BC, NPI 1447717657, with more than 15 years in behavioral health, including UC San Diego Health, Sharp, Scripps and the VA. He is the clinician at your first appointment and every one after it.
Priced per visit
$280 first visit, $130 follow-ups. No membership or monthly plan, and the price is on this page rather than on a sales call.
ADHD is the main focus
Adult ADHD is Tim’s primary clinical focus, along with the anxiety and depression that often come with it. He also has a background as a personal trainer and nutrition coach, so sleep, exercise and diet come up at appointments alongside medication.

Questions
ADHD questions we get from Fresno
Can I see an ADHD prescriber in Fresno without a referral?
Yes, no referral is needed from us. Some insurance plans, usually HMOs, want a referral from your primary care doctor before they cover a specialist, so check yours if you are using insurance. Self-pay needs no referral.
My telehealth ADHD provider shut down. Can you see me in Fresno?
Yes, though not as a straight prescription transfer. You start with a full evaluation, because a new prescriber has to make their own assessment, and stimulants are prescribed only where they are clinically appropriate. Bring previous records if you can. The typical wait for that first appointment is under a week.
What gets mistaken for ADHD, and does a Fresno evaluation check for it?
Anxiety, depression, long-term sleep loss, thyroid problems and substance use can all cause poor focus and restlessness. Sorting those out is a large part of the evaluation, which is why a diagnosis here takes a full appointment and not a questionnaire.
Do you take Medi-Cal in Fresno?
No. The practice is not in the Medi-Cal network, and that includes Anthem Blue Cross Medi-Cal plans. Medi-Cal members in Fresno County can start with their plan or with Fresno County Behavioral Health.
Is Tim a psychiatrist, and can he prescribe ADHD medication in California?
He is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, not an MD. For ADHD, that means he evaluates, diagnoses and prescribes, stimulants included, which is the part most people searching for a psychiatrist need.
I am outside Fresno, in Clovis or Visalia. Can I still book?
Yes. A California licence covers the whole state, so any town works. You need to be in California when the appointment starts.
